Set against the UNESCO World Heritage site Donggureung, The Kings' Dreams reinterprets the royal tombs not as spaces of death, but as sanctuaries where dreams endure.
On a moonlit autumn night, the aspirations of Joseon kings linger in the forest, speaking softly to modern visitors.
King Taejo, who envisioned a new nation; King Munjong, who sought to honor his father's legacy and entrust it to his son; and King Yeongjo, who strived for harmony across the land.
Though living in different eras, their dreams are reborn along the nocturnal forest paths through media projection, dance, narration, and music.

● Synopsis

As night falls over Donggureung, the ancient stone guardian sheep “Seogyang” welcomes the audience.
Addressing them as the “People of Joseon,” he guides them through the royal tombs where his beloved kings reside.
King Taejo, dreamer of a new dynasty; King Munjong, keeper of paternal love; and King Yeongjo, reformer of the nation.
Centuries later, their unfulfilled dreams awaken to illuminate the midnight woods.
Strolling along the sacred paths, the audience encounter the unspoken wishes and historic footprints of each monarch.
Each king's unique narrative unfolds through immersive media art, contemporary dance, and music, converging into a unified story.
At the journey's end near the lotus pond, the audience realizes that the kings' dreams were ultimately born out of deep devotion to their people.
