Heolleung and Illeung Royal Tombs consist of Heolleung Royal Tomb of Taejong, the 3rd king of the Joseon Dynasty, and his consort Queen Wongyeong, and Illeung Royal Tomb of Sunjo, the 23rd king, and his consort Queen Sunwon. King Taejong and King Sunjo who are buried in Heolleung and Illeung, respectively, have the interval of the reign of throne over a 4-century period. The two tombs plainly show the form of royal tomb during the early and late period of the Joseon Dynasty.
